Yay!!! I'm outta here.

And we're off- Im so excited!

Middle of madness! I'm there!

It was 9:45 and I had all of my personal stuff to pack for vacation laid out on the floor in the bedroom and all of my grooming supplies laid out in the middle of the living room - grooming supplies like a file, polish, polish remover, tweezers, mirror etc. etc.. TMI, I know but I need to paint a picture......I was in the middle of grooming, you know manicure-pedicure and making 2 eyebrows out of the one that has grown together since Mapril! M-april is may and april merged together bc that is what happened to us..... may and april merged together in a whirl wind of activity after activity, I honestly dont know how to slow down and I genuinely dont think I really want to! Anyways, so, like, I was sitting on the couch painting my nails and in between time i decided I would multi task and write some thank you notes (for b-day gifts), do an xyc mail out to parents so I had to stuff envelopes, pack for vacation and make myself a bagel.
Then the phone rang............. it was a realtor saying he is going to come show our house sometime from 10:30-11:30 if that was okay. It was 9:45, I was in pj's and was smelling smoke! My Bagel burned!!! The realtor is on his way.... oh my, I started shoving things anywhere with a crevice. Under the bed, under the couch, the dishwasher, in the cabinet and the little space behind my tv!!!!

haha! It was the funniest thing ever... I was running, throwing, spraying febreeze, dusting, vacuuming and getting dressed. I shoved all of my needed materials into my bag and darted out the door, no shower but on time :-0 As I drove away I noticed that I am not wearing the same color socks! Oh well.
I had no where to go so I pulled into Barnes and Nobles to sit and wait to go home. Im sitting here between 2 ladies in their mid 50's suffering a sex-in-the-city syndrome (I assume) since the topic they are talking about is s_x. Too loud for this public place, in my opinion ...I am ready to pull my ears off! On the other side is a couple arguing oh so subtly (not). He keeps telling her to move to the other side of the table (because she is chewing her bagel too loudly (which I agree) and she refuses to do it so the frustration grows. She is getting mad, he is getting more mad too - I also suspect this guy is boot-legging my internet connection on his little palm pilot.
Unfortunately my cord does not reach any longer than this location so, I am stationed in the middle of madness! This brings new meaning to the saying "There's no place like home"

So, I dig in my bag for my head phones, plug them in and turn the music up.
I turn on Jonathan David Helser and tune out the world .... and wait!!!!

Here's the one I'm listening to today.... enjoy.

I love worship music! Anyways, thanks everyone for praying for my house to sell.

We leave for vacation tomorrow and I am so excited!!

Sweet surprise!!

Tonight Scott and the youth from church got together and surprised me with a surprise b-day party after youth church. I could not believe they did it without me having a clue.

They brought chips, drinks, made brownies and one of the youth made this cake for me.
It was 3 layers: the bottom layer was brownie, then 2 layers of chocolate cake and whipped icing and chocolate covered strawberries, she really put alot of work into it.. It was so nice.

Man, it was the sweetest and most thoughtful thing ever! It made my day!!!!

2nd post today! But, I'm in awe

I love worship music..... here is someone I have been listening to alot lately:
Jonathan David Helser
This is a BEAUTIFUL song, I love that as a child of God we can come before the throne of God at anytime!
*Heb 4:15-16*
Not to just continuously make requests and petitions but approach to adore, say thank you and to say I love you Father God!

Hope you enjoy some time before such an awesome God today even if it is in a silent awe!

Vacation:
We will be staying in a resort not on this map but it's located next to the Henry Morgan on the map below.
4 days to go!
I live for traveling! I love Austin but, I love leaving Austin even more!

House
So the latest on our home is: we had a family come look at the house on Friday evening and they liked it so they decided to come back to see it again on Saturday morning. We received word from our realtor that our house is their #1 choice but that they are going to see one more house on Wednesday and they should have a decision by Wednesday so, I am really excited! I told everyone to pray that my house sells within 2 weeks so, this would be within that time frame. God is so good and faithful- its all in his hands so, we'll see what happens.

B-day
Since we had been working on the house non-stop we had planned on having Saturday morning (my bday) to sleep in and rest but with that family coming back to our house at 9am we would have had to get up and clean house and be gone before 9am so, I thought we had kissed rest good bye but, thanks to my in-laws, we were able to go spend the night at their house here in Austin and sleep in until 9:30 am!!! Man, it felt good to sleep and not even think about anything after 2 long weeks of no sleep and constant home repair and packing. I actually woke up feeling almost like my normal self. I am blessed to have married such a wonderful man of God with such a great family.
Scott and I were rested and my b-day was saved! YAY! We had a great day on Saturday- we didn't formally plan anything really so we were able to do whatever we wanted. We had breakfast at Magnolia (not on congress (hehe) then we went to buy a few things we needed for vacation (we're leaving this saturday) then we went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. They were holding an art exhibit with sculptures throughout the gardens. It was a lot of fun. Thankfully I have a husband who also enjoys this type if artsy stuff.

Then we ended the evening not able to make our reservations for dinner so, Scott made me dinner at home. Which I actually enjoyed more than I would have a restaurant.
It was the perfect birthday! Sleeping in... lots of picture taking..... strolling through gardens.....looking at art.....sipping coffee and talking....calls from friends and loved ones... but most importantly down time with my sweetheart! That was the real cherry on top!

Have a great day everyone!

National Day of Prayer

Hello everyone,

Today is the national day of prayer so don't forget to take some time out and pray for the nation.
.....if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 chronicles 7:14

change through the backseat window

Hello Readers....

So the last of our 2 tasks for our home was completed last night - YAY!
Now after 2 weeks of non-stop working on it in-between meetings, life and work we can take a deep breath and relax and just wait.
I am exhausted so rest is just in time as my b-day weekend roles around!
We were hoping to have it all done by this weekend then take the weekend off for my b-day (as we do every year). Taking the whole weekend off is not an option anymore and I'm a bit disappointed as I was really looking forward to re-cooperating. You could pack a full grown elephant in the bags under my eyes and my thoughts are no longer making sense :) Im already a goofy person by design so imagine normal me colliding with exhausted me, what you get is GRUMPY me! haha! Not cute at all... Grouchy does not look good on me.
We will have some down time during some of the portions of the weekend so I plan on making the most of the time by getting as much rest as possible so that I do not go on vacation spent and needing the first 3 days of my vacation to function normally (like last time).

When I step back and think about it, I dont know where we are going to live, I dont know when we will move, I dont know anything, Im exhausted but this morning I was thinking about this and told myself, "Relax, it's just change- sit back Melissa and relax, you know who you are in Christ- enjoy this season- enjoy the ride"! I was reminded of the the word of God and how it tells me that God is the author and the perfector of our (my) faith (heb 12:1-2) & that HE who began this good work in you (me) will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus (phi 1:6)! What is the to fret over? NOTHING!
Lots of change going on in the Taylor household. It is so exciting because I know my God is up to something good! Can't wait to share all of the exciting new things as Scott and I walk this out. I LOVE change- I love surprises so I love that right now I feel like a big exciting lump of clay without a clue and with this new start it can become ANYTHING the Lord wants to shape us into.
You see... I do not need to drive...I do not need control, HE is in control- I've turned over the driver seat. And the steering wheel is in the Lords hands now so now, I can just sit back and enjoy the ride and watch change roll by through the backseat window.

This is the song I've been jammin' to lately- enjoy!

Check in with you again soon!

By the way,

For Sale!

It's official.... our house went on the market at midnight last night!
I'm excited.... I've asked the Lord for the house to sell quickly!! I mean quickly! As I stated before, I do not want this to be a long process.

I also realized that until the house sells we have to keep it perfectly clean (I know that makes me sound like a slob but listen) we stay so busy this is the part that will get interesting :)

So here we go....... I am excited!

Have a great day- Missa

Purge to freedom

I am happy to announce that the Taylor's are 3 steps away from Freedom:

1)  Sell all of my junk (overflow if you want to get spiritual about it) at this garage sale.

2) Clean, clean, clean. I am going to deep clean the house and shampoo carpet sometime today!

3) Pray and believe that my house is going to sell within 2 weeks, my God can anything so, I am steady asking and believing!

Scott and I have been continuously working on our house and getting it ready to place on the market. In the last week we have only had about 4 hours tops of sleep any given night so at this point we are a bit loopy and ready to cross this finish line - but man o' man does the house look great!
We had a painter come in and paint a fresh coat on the walls and in the process where actually blessed with lots of extra work at no charge. I walked in to find nail holes filled and painted and the entire bathroom painted! What a blessing!
Then we had one of the teenagers come in and helped clean the stove, oven, refrigerator for some $$$$. All while Scott and I purged every room in the house. I am slowly feeling more free as the days go by. In seeing the ridiculousness of the piles of stuff here at my house I promised myself to purge my future house periodically, not to mention I really thought about how much excess stuff we have and what a waste it is. I am going to go into the next phase of life and live as minimally as possible. I think we think we need alot more than we actually really need!
I have my God, my husband, health, food and shelter -> good enough for me!

Im getting excited about the next season of our lives together!

We are nearing the finish line of being ready on Monday for the realtor to come over. YAY!
We had AAB covered by another couple so Scott could do a fundraiser with XYC and I could hold the garage sale> come on BIG MONEY  $  :)

-> By the way ...... 14 days till diving in beautiful ROATAN!!!!! - woo hoo!
