What did I tell you, a prodigy.

On Saturday afternoon my mother-in-law and sister-in-law held Scott and I a family and friends baby shower in Dallas, It was so much fun and soooo sweet.

I am so honored by EVERYONE's kindness and support of the upcoming arrival of Baby Boy.

While we were at the shower my nephew sat at the piano and proved what I have ALWAYS known but now I had proof -> HE'S A PRODIGY.

See it for yourself!

Love, love, love my nieces and nephews - have a wonderful day,
Missa

Twigs and Leaves:The last of it!

Last night we assembled the last of the baby items:

  • The changing table
  • The swing

and we washed and put away the last of the clothes.

I can officially say that we are ready for our baby blessing to be here, our hearts have been ready this whole time but we had to do some prep but now that all that is completed...... Nothing else to do but wait and pray.

This is not where we have everything placed but this is what it looks like and actually- there are so many baby clothes that I had to rearrange the closet to fit them all. He is going to look so adorable!

So many cute baby things.... I am so excited and ready for this blessing!

Twigs and Leaves; Ode to the clock I loathe

Well Scott and I kicked baby prep into high gear in mid-March (17th) when we were told Baby was coming anyday now - We made sure that everything was in order. We made a mad dash to the store to get all of the necessities. My wonderful friends threw me a "emergency" baby shower (almost 6 weeks earlier than planned). We made sure all of the clothes, towels etc for baby are washed. Painted furniture, cleaned cabinets to make room, packed up the coming home outfit in the diaper bag, put together all the nursery furniture ,put the car seat holster in the car and buckled it, (remember we thought he was coming at the end of may), I made arrangements for work and did a ton of work in advance ...we made sure personal items and errands are run, recruited a back up person for youth classes, .... so that when we get the call that Baby Boy is coming all we have to think about it going to the hospital and meeting our beautiful baby boy, finally meeting him - holding him in our arms and telling him that we love him.

Fast forward to April 6th (today) We are still waiting.... it is getting really hard. I am anxious and excited and even a bit saddened because I had my hopes up that he would be here already - I am an emotional roller coaster. Please continue to pray for the Taylor's as we continue to wait and trust God as our whole world is on hold (but not so much) waiting for what I know is more than worth the wait.

I think at this point Scott and I are sick of staring at the clock.... we would much rather be staring God’s blessing in the face.

Baby Boy.... your mommy and daddy love you- we can not wait to meet you!

Prov 3: 5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Twigs & Leaves: Bob Ross who?

Some of the latest baby preparations are putting together our glider. Which I love! I sit in it every night at bed time and read or write. Love it!
We also received this dresser from my mother in law. We painted it to compliment the babies bedding color scheme.
Then I took the knobs off and painted them white.
I looked online at buying monkey knobs but they were $12.00 each and honestly why pay someone to do something that I can do myself.
Dont get me wrong they are not professional
and I'm sure I could have had a better result with a better brush
but, it was midnight and I was determined to do it while I had the free time.
Here's how they turned out, (I think they look pretty cute).

Here is the final result. The painted dresser with the monkey knobs.
Looks so cute with everything else.

Some very special friends from church gave us this bench and when they gave it to us it was all blue with a blue sticker and it was sooooo cute but did not match so I decided to sand it, paint it white and green and add the stickers that coordinate with our monkey theme then seal it.

Im going to add lettering around the edges after we name the baby.
We almost have everything we need for the baby. Soon we will be all ready however, should baby come now we have the necessities- bring it on - we are so excited!

-Have a great day, Missa
