TO OUR BABY BOY!!!!

To Zach,

Sometimes we don't know why things happen and what God is doing, but we just have to believe that God is working things out because he is faithful and a good God. Zach just know that we will always be your parents and we will pray for you everyday that God will protect, guide and love you. I believe that God has a specific and awesome plan for your life and that you have already made an impact on our lives. Don't ever forget how much you are loved by God and by us. I believe that one day God will bring us back together and we talk about our lives and maybe play a game of basketball. I will let you win and I hope I don't pull a muscle. Zach just know that Melissa and I love you very much and that you are safe in God's arms even though you will not be in our arms. We love you and I just want to pray a Father's prayer over your life.

Lord, I pray for Zach that he grows up strong and healthy, and that he gives his heart to Jesus. And Zach will see your plans and follow your ways. I pray that he will be blessed with a heart to serve, and a desire to lead. I pray that he prospers and becomes very successful in school, life, and business. I pray that he stay abstinent until he gets married and finds himself a wonderful godly wife. Lord I pray that he always stays in your arms and knows that you have a plan that is far better that he can hope or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). I pray that Zach knows that Melissa and I love him and we will always be here for him. Thank you Lord for allowing us to hold him, love him and pray over him even if it was just for one night.

LOVE these moments........

I absolutely LOVE music especially worship music and it never fails, no matter how frustrated, irritated, doubtful, fearful or even puzzled I may feel, at any given time all I have to do is turn on some worship music and sing along- sing as unto the Lord and I am encouraged, the fear subsides and I refocus on all that he has promised me and all that I am blessed with! Tomorrow is a BIG day in the Taylor household so as I sit in my rocker - rocking and thinking, here is what I am listening to:

Word!

I love it when the Lord brings a word to us right when we need it - right where we are. My hubby brought an awesome teaching last night titled:

"all stressed out and no where to go"

Here are the 4 points he taught about:

1- Get a proper perspective! We have got to get a proper perspective on what is really going on in our lives, our mountains may in fact be only a mole hill once we look at it with a Christ-minded perspective and focus on truth.

• Most of our worry is tied to the past!

2- Put God first in every area of our life (matt 6:33)

• we must get and maintain the right priorities in our day to day (He knows his plans for us)
• problems can not consume us

3- Take one day at a time (matt 6:34)

• Where is our focus?

4- Turn everything over to God (1 pet 5:7, Phil 4:6)

There was so much to this message but these were all the notes I was able to take I hope you have a moment to sit with it, read it and let the Lord speak to your heart, comfort you and I pray that you are encouraged with it.

I hope that whatever is going on in your life, you take a moment to look at through the eyes of faith and that you filter out lies from truth and that you trust God wholeheartedly with your situation because remember it is He who called you, He will be faithful to that calling and He will bring it to completion in you and through you according to His purpose and His timing.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-25 (NASB) Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. Brethren, pray for us.

Big day in the taylor home (single digit days)

Today marked a BIG day for the Taylor household!!

We have been counting down baby boys arrival for months now but today we hit a new mark, we continued the countdown BUT in single digit numbers now!!!

It felt like we were never going to get here but thank you Lord we are here now and we are getting closer to the arrival of Baby Boy Taylor!!

YAY!!!!

This SUPER LONG wait has really made me think about this word;

GRACE

its because of God's grace we are at this place in our lives and it is by

His grace we are being kept.

grace: The state of being protected or sanctified by the favor of God.

An excellence or power granted by God.

My beautiful neice arrived this morning!

She is soooo precious and I can already tell she is a prodigy

like the rest of my neices and nephews.

My b-day was a fun and full day.

After I finally dragged myself out of bed and out of the house for church I found this package on my car seat, a day #3 gift from Scott during this B-day week. He is so sweet. And if any of you were wondering what kind of gifts we give each other let me tell you how these gifts come about (on Scotts part anyway).

Scott is really good about listening to me... not just hearing but actually listening, what I mean is since I met him he has this little portion of his brain that is reserved for my personal wish list. For example, months ago I was talking about how I wanted an apron bc I ruin all my clothes when I cook.... and into the wish list portion of his brain my wish went while I went along my way cooking and messing up my clothes.... Not to mention a few months before we were at Bed Bath and Beyond and I was looking at a mat for the kitchen and he casually asked if I liked any of the patterns on the wall of kitchen towels, I answered and went on my way.

Who would have known all these months later I would open this gift

to find: an apron in the pattern that I said I liked.

Our b-day week gifts are always small tokens. Things that we would like to have but would never buy for our selves... things like a pretty computer bag, itunes $, an apron.. little things that mean the world.

Yesterday was my official bday and it was a great day.

I arrived at church to be showered in love, cards and little tokens of love and appreciation from everyone - one of my favorite moments was the 2 little beauties waiting for me to give me a card they picked themselves

and a gift bag with 2 of my very favorite things: A scarf and a purse... Love it! Emily and Haley are such beautiful and awesome, kind-hearted little girls.

Scott and I adore them so much. They always brighten up our sundays and wednesdays and when we get to babysit them too... They are the daughters of Pastor Travis and Jessica, such cutie-pies!

Then, as we were dismissed to go to youth class I walked through the door to the youth singing happy birthday and instead of a cake they had a blueberry muffin with a candle in it :)

A muffin since it was barely 10 am, I loved it, it was so thoughtful. They also decorated the media area where I sit and work the music and the powerpoint and all of that stuff. They gave me a super sweet and funny b-day card.

Then to top the evening off, I was able to have dinner at my favorite restaurant Morelia off of 79 with some of my favorite people, my in-laws. Before heading home we went to one of my favorite places, BEST BUY! To spend some b-day cash on a back up drive I have been needing for a while.

Not to mention the dog that has been barking for 5 weeks finally silenced this weekend! YAY!!!

WHAT A GREAT b-day!

5 fish and a turtle; Day #2

So this morning was day #2 of my birthday week and my hubby is the best!

He asked what I would like to do for my bday and wouldnt you know it, my answer was fishing. I love fishing in our special spot and though the weather was windy in Round Rock when we arrived in Bastrop the weather there was perfect. Not hot. There was a light cool breeze and the water was perfect. Though our typical spot was already taken by a family we found another spot on the opposite side of the lake. It was a really cute area with a huge tree and under it in the shade was a small wooden bench just on the bank of the lake. Too cute.

But, before we left I opened the car door to find this package sitting on the seat,

it was a small token of love from my sweetheart.

Then of course we packed some sandwiches and had an amazing day fishing and relaxing, it was one of those days were you think to yourself "does it get any better than this". This time of togetherness and relaxtion was long over due.

We arrived home in the evening to have a dinner and some cake. My sweetheart made me my favorite cake (in the whole wide world) and he made it all from scratch, even the frosting was from scratch- it was so yummy!

This bday week is starting off so awesomely!

Maybe baby boy will come this week and make it the perfect b-day week.

Wacky Day in Fredericksburg

Scott took the day off of work on Friday so that we can have some down time together before the baby makes his debut.

We first went to the Wildseed Farm and all of the beautiful flowers were in bloom. Then we walked around town while in town we walked into a very upscale furniture store and in the middle of the store was a baby pack-n-play, I thought it was full of kittens or puppies so I passed it by without a second thought (I'm not an animal lover :) but Scott stopped and was captivated by whatever was in there so I had to investigate, here is what we saw- so cute!:

We had a great time together- the hot texas weather is definitely creeping up on us.

You know your a Youth Pastor if.....

Yesterday morning Scott brought an awesome message to the teenagers and to me. God really used what Scott was talking about to touch my heart and change the way I think about the armor of God...

Scott doesn't usually use props but as I was sitting at the back watching him talk I couldn't help but giggle because he had 2 props he was using to get his point across about the armor of God.

And this thought crossed my mind.......

You might be a youth Pastor if.... you use a monkey and a soldier during your sunday morning service to teach about the armor of God.

I love my hubby- he is an amazing man of God - he loves God, he loves teaching, he loves youth and if he knows you..... chances are, he loves you too.
